The Call for a Change
Amidst the dynamic landscape of the beverage industry, Beverage Solutions Group identified the critical need to enhance their technological infrastructure. The goal was to streamline operations, improve data-driven decision-making processes, and optimize their touchscreen system for enhanced functionality and reliability.

Challenges Encountered
Throughout the project, several challenges were addressed: 1. **Legacy Code Review:** Assessing the robustness of existing code for BSG's touchscreen system to ensure it could support future operational demands. 2. **Functionality Enhancement:** Improving app functionality, dispenser setup, and integration with reporting mechanisms to enhance user experience and operational efficiency. 3. **Technical Concerns: **Addressing and resolving critical technical issues discovered during testing phases to deliver a bug-free system.
Project Strategy
BSG's approach to the project was strategic and comprehensive:
Phase 1 (Requirement Analysis)
Engaging with Beverage Solutions Group to conduct a thorough review of previous tech projects and code. This phase involved understanding specific needs, defining key functionalities, and mapping out user journeys to ensure the system delivers maximum value and efficiency.
Phase 2 (Development)
Harnessing advanced development methodologies to build a robust and scalable touchscreen system. This included improving app functionality, dispenser setup, and integration with reporting mechanisms, while addressing and resolving any technical concerns discovered during the project.
Phase 3 (Design)
Creating an intuitive and user-friendly interface for the touchscreen system. The design process focused on ensuring the system's usability and accessibility, enhancing the overall user experience for convenience stores, casinos, and universities.
Phase 4 (Testing)
Conducting rigorous testing to ensure the system's functionality, performance, and security. Utilizing Appium and Unified Functional Testing (UFT) tools, the team performed thorough quality assurance tests to identify and resolve any issues, ensuring a bug-free and reliable system.
Phase 5 (Deployment and Launch)
Collaboration with Steve and the BSG team spanned from April to October 2018, culminating in the successful delivery of a robust, bug-free touchscreen system. By addressing technical concerns proactively and implementing comprehensive testing methodologies, we ensured the system's reliability and functionality met BSG's operational needs.
