It enables parents to pay securely through their preferred apps like Paypal or Venmo, eliminating the hassle of writing checks or visiting ATMs.

Sitter-Sanity’s mission is to enhance the babysitting experience for parents and sitters alike by offering a user-friendly app that simplifies payment calculations and transactions. By leveraging technology, the app aims to promote transparency, convenience, and trust in childcare services, ensuring that both parents and babysitters can focus on what matters most—caring for children.

The development of the sitter sanity followed a strategic approach:



 The project commenced with comprehensive discussions to capture Josh’s vision and requirements for Sitter-Sanity. Detailed user stories and use cases were documented to outline the app’s core functionalities, focusing on automating payment calculations and integrating with popular payment gateways.


Requirements Phase

User experience (UX) design prioritized simplicity and clarity, ensuring that users could easily input babysitting details and navigate through payment processes. Visual design elements were crafted to enhance usability and convey trustworthiness, crucial for encouraging adoption among users.


Design Phase

Sitter-Sanity was developed natively for iOS using Swift programming language. Backend integration with Paypal and Venmo APIs facilitated seamless payment transactions, while custom algorithms were implemented to calculate fees accurately based on input parameters. Continuous integration and version control practices ensured code stability and collaboration among development teams.

Development Phase

 Rigorous testing protocols encompassed functional testing to validate payment calculations and transaction flows, as well as usability testing to gauge user interactions with the app interface. Compatibility testing across different iOS devices and operating system versions ensured a consistent user experience.


Testing Phase

The app was strategically launched on the Apple App Store following thorough beta testing and user feedback incorporation. Marketing efforts focused on reaching parents seeking streamlined babysitting payment solutions. Post-launch, ongoing monitoring and updates were conducted to address any issues and enhance app performance based on user insights.

Josh identified an opportunity to modernize this process by creating Sitter-Sanity, which automates fee calculations and facilitates digital payments. The aim was to provide parents with a convenient, efficient, and secure way to compensate babysitters, reducing the stress associated with payment logistics.
