It enables parents to pay securely through their preferred apps like Paypal or Venmo, eliminating the hassle of writing checks or visiting ATMs.

The Call for Change

In the childcare industry, traditional methods of paying babysitters often involve cumbersome processes such as calculating hours worked and handling cash transactions. Josh identified an opportunity to modernize this process by creating Sitter-Sanity, which automates fee calculations and facilitates digital payments. The aim was to provide parents with a convenient, efficient, and secure way to compensate babysitters, reducing the stress associated with payment logistics.

Sitter-Sanity was developed natively for iOS using Swift programming language. Backend integration with Paypal and Venmo APIs facilitated seamless payment transactions, while custom algorithms were implemented to calculate fees accurately based on input parameters. Continuous integration and version control practices ensured code stability and collaboration among development teams.

Testing Phase

Rigorous testing protocols encompassed functional testing to validate payment calculations and transaction flows, as well as usability testing to gauge user interactions with the app interface.
